‘Così fan tutte’ is a comic opera in two acts by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, in which two young men place a wager and through it engage in a love experiment, consequently jeopordizing their respective relationships. Fittingly, the subtitle of the opera is ‘La scuola degli amanti’, or 'The school for lovers'.
‘Così fan tutte’ premiered in Vienna in 1790, and immediately was a tremendous succes. The opera justly joined the cast-iron repertoire and recieves regular performances in all the major operahouses.
A number of Ukrainian musicians fled the war and found refuge in the Netherlands. This resulted in the establishement of a remarkable orchestra, the Ukraine Liberation Orchestra, under conductor Jeroen Weierink. Marc Krone will take on the staging and with six extraordinarily talented Ukrainian vocalists we present to you a brand new setting of, no doubt, the most hilarious boulevard farce in opera repertoire.
Keep your handkerchiefs ready!
