On the Saturday evening of our Open House event in the Nieuwe Kerk, composer and singer LAVALU will offer a preview of her coming concert Earthbound.

“A beautiful, wondrous and highly personal album… Listen to it!”

Eric Corton

Following part I (Solitary High) and part II (Midair), composer and singer LAVALU will conclude her triptych with the album Earthbound. It is an album about accepting that life is often like a trudge through the mud, however much you might wish to be flying high instead.

In these strange times, we all know what it feels like to be stuck. But what if you embrace that feeling? Find your peace with it? Maybe, just maybe, this offers a gateway to an experience of profound tranquillity.

Hugging the ground – also in terms of sound – LAVALU will now perform for the first time as a trio. Just like LAVALU, Roosmarijn Tuenter (viola and vocals) and Paul Rittel (cello and vocals) have one foot in pop music and the other foot in the classical world. Earthbound soaks up the power of the piano’s bass notes, the warmth of the viola, and the depth of the cello. Still, the trio lays out more effects pedals on stage than the average pop music act.

The concert is free, but we do ask that you reserve a ticket in advance.
