MEYER-CHAFFAUD looking for paticipants in performance

Big or small, fat or thin, young or old, flexible or less flexible: every resident of The Hague can be part of the spectacular opening programme of Amare in November. Amare has invited MEYER-CHAFFAUD to involve the public in the arts by creating a performance for amateurs from all over the city to participate in. Experience is not required, but some affinity with theater or dance is.

Kick-off, workshops and performances

Anyone aged sixteen or older who dreams of having a special experience in the theater can seize this unique opportunity.
During the (free) kick-off meeting on Sunday 5 September at 3 p.m. you will hear all about it and have the possibility to register for a series of workshops on Saturday afternoon, with the special closing performances during the opening weekend of Amare on Friday 19 and Saturday 20 November.

“During the (free) kick-off meeting on Sunday 5 September at 3 p.m. we will tell you about our plans and we will show and let you experience how we will let the creativity flow among participants”, says Chaffaud. “It promises not only to be a special process, but also a great opportunity to meet new people.”

Intense experience

Meyer and Chaffaud are looking forward to working with a group of city residents. “On the basis of, among other things, team building and movement exercises, we initiate a creative process. Body Landscape is all about slowing down and rest, about slow-motion movements or still group images. We want to make visitors more aware of the different dimensions and functions of the various spaces of Amare and make their experience even more intense.”

About MEYER-CHAFFAUD

Jérôme Meyer and Isabelle Chaffaud have extensive knowledge and experience as dancers and choreographers, with amongst others Nederlands Dans Theater and Batsheva Dance Company. In addition to making performances, they also organized the interdisciplinary HUBS Immersive Festival in which the audience was immersed in a sensory experience of art. In their four-part performance series SOUL# they showed their fascination for the audience's role as viewer, co-creator and performer, an experience that they find very useful for the creation of Body Landscape.
