A Roy Hargrove Celebration

Sat 7 Mar

Roy Hargrove was not only a visionary trumpeter, but also a guiding force within the global jazz community. Throughout his career, he inspired and mentored countless musicians, both on stage and behind the scenes. His influence was especially felt during late-night jam sessions at iconic New York venues such as Smalls, where he shared his artistry and helped shape the next generation of jazz artists.

Hargrove also shared a strong connection with The Hague, where he performed regularly and left a lasting mark on the city’s musical life. His presence and legacy continue to resonate with audiences and musicians alike.

At the first edition of New Tide Festival, that legacy comes together in a Roy Hargrove Celebration. For this special concert, the festival unites musicians who worked closely with Hargrove alongside artists shaped by his influence. Together, they perform his music and celebrate the spirit that defined his work: deeply rooted, forward-thinking and full of groove.
