Fri 6 Mar

Guitarist and composer Imanol Emede is an emerging voice in modern jazz. Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and based in the Netherlands since 2022, he develops a distinctive musical language that combines lyricism with rhythmic sophistication. His work is rooted in contemporary jazz and shaped by both American and European influences.

Emede has performed at festivals such as Buenos Aires Jazz Festival, Grachtenfestival, Festival Classique, Tuschinski Festival and Jazz in de Regentes. In 2025, he was awarded the Nicolaï Prize by the Royal Conservatory of The Hague, where he also received an Excellence Scholarship for his master’s studies.

At New Tide Festival, Imanol Emede performs with his trio, presenting new repertoire built on strong melodies, rhythmic creativity and improvisational freedom. The trio’s highly interactive sound moves between composed material and spontaneous interplay, resulting in eclectic, energetic music driven by a constant search for fresh sounds and new directions.
