From soul to spiritual jazz: these are the first names
The line-up reflects the vision of New Tide Festival: jazz as an open genre, deeply rooted in the Afro-American tradition and always moving forward.
Friday 6 March
Friday evening combines traditional jazz influences with groove, funk and danceable energy, with performances by Meshell Ndegeocello, Candy Dulfer, The Harlem Gospel Travelers, ROSEYE, Noa Lauryn and Brintex Collective.
Saturday 7 March
The Saturday programme spans a wide spectrum of contemporary jazz, featuring New Cool Collective, Francesca Tandoi, Alune Wade, Mushroom Mosis and Nueva Manteca.
New talent
In addition to programming fresh newcomers, New Tide Festival also aims to stimulate talent development by working with the Royal Conservatoire. This way, the festival can serve as a jumping board for a new generation of jazz musicians from The Hague and surroundings.
More names will be announced in the near future, expanding the New Tide Festival programme.
