In PAKMAN, the rhythms produced by juggler Stijn Grupping and drummer Frederik Meulyzer merge. Together they investigate the rhythm that prevails in the current day and age. Each with his own instrument, they amplify each other, undermine each other, complement and challenge each other. With the rhythms and routines of bouncing balls and drums, they create a brief but imaginative live music experience.

An exhilarating jam featuring a juggler and a drummer (…) Their power of imagination causes the sad parcel delivery system to burst at the seams.

Evelyne Coussens, De Morgen

PAKMAN is an international festival hit that is staged in the cargo hold of a small lorry. That’s where the audience meets Pakman, the lonely and invisible inhabitant of our virtual economy. PAKMAN lives faster than a mouse can click: 1 parcel, 2 forms, 3 stamps, 6 signatures – and then 450 times a day. Pakman delivers 159,750 parcels a year, in exchange for 10 holiday days. PAKMAN criss-crosses the country to deliver the parcels right on time.

PAKMAN is staged in a lorry parked on squares, in parking lots and at playgrounds. The cargo hold can accommodate 25 visitors at a time. This breathtaking performance is suitable for everyone from the age of 5.

De locatie van deze voorstelling is bij de 'Loading Dock', het los- en laadpunt. Dat is dus backstage in Amare!
