For the press
Welcome to Amare
Amare is the largest cultural complex in the Netherlands, located at the centre of The Hague’s cultural heart. Stichting Amare (Amare Foundation) is responsible for the operational management and for the programming of this international house of music and dance. The building is also home to the Residentie Orkest, Nederlands Dans Theater and Royal Conservatoire. All parties work closely together.
Amare is also the most sustainably constructed cultural complex in the Netherlands, with an iconic and distinctive architecture. A lively hub of interaction with the city, the building is open every day from morning to evening. Containing concert halls, a theatre hall, studios, lesson and rehearsal spaces, hospitality outlets and more, Amare offers a huge and diverse range of experiences and opportunities for personal and cultural encounter. Amare draws more than 300,000 visitors every year, to enjoy more than 1000 activities and performances. The public spaces furthermore offer a lively place for performers, visitors, students and passersby to mingle. With its freely accessible Open Amare programme, Amare provides a platform for the city’s many organisations and initiatives.
