The Loek van den Berg quintet takes you on a trip, and keeps you on the edge of your seats with their storytelling compositions, heartfelt improvisations and their fabulous control of their instrument.Their music is something else. A seamless fusion of melody, virtuosity and interplay. This is even more apparent during their live performances, where the passion and enthusiasm of the band will take you away.

Loek is een bedachtzame speler met een ronde, melodische sound die zijn luisteraars mee op reis neemt.

In 2019 the Loek van den Berg Quintet for the first time appeared on stage. Since then
they have been playing all over the Netherlands and have done multiple international tours to
for example India, Spain, and Malta. Through the years the Quintet has created an own style characterized by the melodical and melancholical compositions of Loek. Everyone in the band is equal though. All five bandmembers have their own voice, which shines through the songs as there is a lot of room for own interpretation, improvisation and interaction. The quintet is built on a strong bond of friendship, which you can clearly hear in the music.

Their album Wayfarer got awarded the Edison Jazz, Newcomer National and in 2022 Loek won the prize for best composition in the Dutch Jazz Competition, with the titletrack of his album Wayfarer. In the same year the band won the 2nd prize in the Getxo International Jazz Competition and in 2019 Loek won the Erasmus Jazz Prize.
