Meral Polat imbues the Kurdish soul with the unfiltered energy and emotion of the blues. Together with three virtuoso musicians, she brings hypnotic soundscapes to life in a moving performance. You hear the beauty, but also the deep sadness and longing of an oppressed people. A variation of melancholic and dreamy and then again rousing and danceable.

Her debut album Ez Kî Me is a contemporary interpretation of traditional Anatolian music—sometimes a battle cry, sometimes a tender call for identity and solidarity. This album was nominated for the prestigious Songlines Music Award and the UPBEAT Best New Talent Award 2024.

With her new line-up, she presents a brand new quartet program in which different eras and cultures merge, without losing their contemporary sound. This program gives a voice to women who walk their own path and celebrates female power. Musically it brings more rhythm, groove, rock ‘n’ roll and energy, while telling stories of resistance, struggle and solidarity in the ongoing fight for women’s rights.
