BIG BANG brings a day full of musical wonder

May 2025, retrospect

On Sunday 13 April, Amare turned into a true children's paradise during the international BIG BANG Festival. Through performances and participative activities children were introducted to music in all sorts of ways. Revisit the magic with the aftermovie and pictures!

The BIG BANG Festival is a festive ode to adventurous music and sound art for children. Every year, major cultural venues in various countries are transformed into an adventurous musical labyrinth, including Amare!

Once again, there was plenty to discover during the festival. The legendary Music Rooms took families on a musical journey through Amare's hidden rooms, which people usually don’t get to visit. During roundABOUT the Conservatoriumzaal was changed into an enchanting world of light, image, and rhythm. And in the Danstheater the musicians of MILE(S)TONES delivered a swinging tribute to jazz legend Miles Davis, full of improvisation and energy.

It wasn't just busy in the halls, there was plenty of fun to be had in the public spaces as well. Children were crafting and dancing at the silent disco on the Kunstenplein, jumping on the Hoppeslot bouncy castle, and enjoying ice cream from the singing ice cream man Luciano Gelati. Throughout the building, various musical artists popped up to surprise and delight visitors.
