Because March 8 is International Women's Day, March is all about women. We highlight a number of programs that celebrate, admire and appreciate women this month.

The month of March is also called women's month. That's because March 8 is International Women's Day. Every year on this officially recognized holiday, attention is paid to the rights of women worldwide and the role they play in society. The phenomenon arose in the twentieth century because women stood up for their rights, amongst others in the areas of labor and women's suffrage. Women's Day was first introduced in the Netherlands in 1912.
