Schubert’s famous song cycle tells the story of a broken-hearted young man leaving the home of his former paramour on a cold winter night.

This concert has a twist, however: the part of the baritone, who represents the young man’s perspective, is replaced by Christianne Stotijn’s crystal-clear mezzo-soprano.
