Cape Verdean singer Mayra Andrade takes you on a musical journey through Cape Verde, Senegal, Angola, France and Portugal. All countries where she lived, and where she took musical influences from. This results in an infectious and unique mix of Cape Verdean uptempo rhythms, mixed with modern pop, reggae and jazz influences.

Mayra was born in Cuba, as the daughter of Cape Verdean parents, but she grew up in Senegal, Angola and Germany. Later she returned to Cape Verde, and she is currently living in France, where she continues to broaden her musical palette. Her fascination for the music of the island of Santiago, with its emphasis on percussion and African rhythms, she has incorporated into her own songs. Mayra sings in Creole, Portuguese, Spanish, French and English. With songs that radiate eternal summer, she shows danceable tones, silky rhythms and captivating melodies.

Mayra is accompanied by the Cap Verdian Djodje Almeida on acoustic guitar. Together they invite us to rediscover some of her songs, in an intimate atmosphere. Picking songs from her whole discography, from Navega (2006) to Manga (2019).
