Composer, cellist, and singer Chieko Donker Duyvis writes music for dance, film, and opera. She excels at creating a vibrant musical universe in which classical, jazz, and Latin influences come together. In a new collaboration, Chieko and Hamid Reza Behzadian cross strings for the first time in a compelling dialogue between cello and guitar. Slide guitarist Hamid blends Iranian traditions with American country blues in a virtuosic and breathtaking performance. Together with Simone Sou on percussion, a dynamic interplay of rhythms and melodies emerges.
