Amare Bicycle Parking Officially Opened

Are you coming to Amare for a theatre performance or are you just heading into the city centre? From now on, you can park your bicycle in the public underground bicycle parking facility at Amare, located at Turfhaven 5.
The Amare bicycle parking facility offers around a thousand extra spaces and is within walking distance of the city hall, the shopping district, and of course Amare itself. This makes it a convenient and secure place to park your bike while visiting our theatre or the city centre. The parking facility is accessible to both pass holders (scan your Amare card at the reader) and the general public. Please note that cargo bikes and other larger models cannot be parked here due to the layout of the underground facility.
Opening hours
- Monday to Friday: 07:30 – 23:00
- Saturday and Sunday: 11:00 – 23:00
Official opening
Alderman Arjen Kapteijns (Mobility) and Leontien Wiering, General Director of Amare, officially opened the parking facility by symbolically parking a tandem bicycle. Both expressed their hope that the facility will be widely used! Alderman Kapteijns said: “Cyclists like to park as close as possible to their destination, but in a busy city centre, that’s not always possible. With this new parking facility, we’re offering an appealing alternative that contributes to a safe and accessible public space.” Wiering agreed: “Amare is a home for the arts, for the city, and for everyone. We’re happy that our bike parking is now open to all. This is how we aim to contribute to a welcoming, accessible, and sustainable city centre.”
