Local artists bring street art indoors with INSIDE expo

The Hague Street Art once again brings street art from the streets into the public spaces of Amare during the INSIDE exhibition. Discover the work of local artists at the Kunstenplein from Fri 19 Sept to Sat 11 Oct.
The Hague Street Art (THSA) is dedicated to everything in the field of street art in The Hague and beyond. Through workshops and educational programmes, THSA promotes art in the public space and helps prevent vandalism. The organisation also professionalises and shows off young artists by linking them to potential clients and giving them opportunities to showcase their work at exhibitions and events.
For years, THSA has collaborated with artists and the municipality to enrich The Hague’s streetscape with unique murals, both large and small. Each wall tells its own story or message. It could be the story of a neighbourhood, one or several of its residents, or the artist’s personal vision. Street art has become an inseparable part of the city’s identity.
Usually you encounter street art outdoors, but during the 7th edition of the INSIDE exhibition more than 20 local artists will bring their work into Amare, revealing how their experiences and cultural influences take shape in their art. Step inside and discover the power and diversity of their creations. The exhibition officially opens on Fri 19 Sept at 17:30 and runs until Sat 11 Oct.
Deep Dive for Artists
Are you a creative and curious about the opportunities THSA can offer? On Fri 19 Sep, The Hague Street Art and Uit Het Gareel are hosting Deep Dive for Artists: a free inspiration day for artists.
The programme begins with a behind-the-scenes look at THSA: how they work, where commissions come from, and how artists are selected. This is followed by an in-depth panel discussion on how to succeed as an artist without relying on social media. Several artists will share their experiences, projects and tips, with plenty of room for audience questions. The day includes a free lunch and concludes with drinks and the opening of the new INSIDE exhibition at Amare, featuring works on canvas by a range of street artists.
