Privacy statement of Amare

We treat your personal data with care and handle it in accordance with the requirements of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR). Among other things, this privacy statement explains which data we collect about you, the purposes for which we do so, how long we keep the data, and what your rights are.

Why we process your personal data
We process your personal data in order to be able to offer our services and products. We only process the personal data that we need in order to offer products and services. Examples include the following:

  • performances and concerts
  • newsletter
  • lessons and/or courses
  • customer account
  • donorship
  • website product sales
  • market research and marketing (for the development of products and services and other purposes relating to our general operations)
  • use of our contact form
  • job applications

On what legal bases do we process your personal data?
We process your personal data on various legal bases. A large part of the personal data is processed because we need to do so in order to carry out an agreement – for example, selling a ticket for a show. We also process your personal data because we consider this necessary in order to pursue our legitimate interest of informing you and keeping you up to date about our activities and/or providing you with our newsletter. Other reasons include the need to analyse our customer base and offer our products and services in a more targeted manner. In certain situations we are furthermore legally obliged to process certain personal data.

The personal data we collect
The type and scope of the personal data we process differ per product or service. Examples may include name, address, place of residence, telephone number, email address, IP address, purchase history, IBAN details and amount spent. We offer the option to complete the ordering process with minimum collection of personal data, although you are required to provide your email address so that we can send you the tickets and inform you of any changes or cancellations. At the physical ticket desk in Amare, it is possible to purchase tickets without any personal data being processed.

How we obtain your personal data
In principle, we receive your personal data directly from you. When you purchase a ticket for a performance or concert at Amare through one of the event’s co-organisers, this co-organiser will provide us with your email address.

How long we keep your personal data
We do not keep your personal data for any longer than necessary for the purposes for which they are processed.

Data concerning your visit to our website is stored for fourteen months. If you have purchased a ticket or received any other form of product or service from us, the retention period is five years. If you have indicated that you wish to receive newsletters from us by email, we will keep your data until you unsubscribe.

If you have applied for a job at Amare, we will keep your data for up to one month after the application process ends, unless you have given permission for your personal data to be kept for one year. You can revoke this permission at any time by sending an email to privacy@amare.nl. After the retention period ends, your personal data are removed from our systems.

Sharing personal data with third parties
We may share your data with the parties who perform our services and other business activities, such as printing companies, hosting providers, software suppliers, automation service providers and (online) marketing companies. To the extent that these third parties process your data for the performance of the relevant services and business activities, we take the necessary contractual, technical and organisational precautions to ensure that your data are processed with care.

In certain cases, your name, address, postcode, place of residence, telephone number, email address, event date, the number of tickets bought and the amount spent may be shared with co-organisers of the specific event for which you purchased tickets. This is always the case for the concerts and shows of our house companies Residentie Orkest (hereafter: RO), the Royal Conservatoire (hereafter: KC) and Nederlands Dans Theater (hereafter: NDT). These organisations have direct access to our ticket system for their own concerts and/or performances in Amare. Co-organisers other than RO, KC and NDT only receive your email address. These co-organisers may contact you to: (i) provide you with information regarding shows or offers regarding shows, and (ii) perform data analyses and customer satisfaction surveys. You can unsubscribe from emails from these co-organisers at any time using the unsubscribe button in the emails.
