On April 27 there will be lectures about April 25 1974, organized by the Portuguese Embassy in The Hague, with the participation of Jan Pronk, the former Dutch Minister of Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation and former United Nations High Representative for Sudan, and Francisco Seixas da Costa, former diplomat and former Secretary of State for European Affairs of Portugal, also former Ambassador of Portugal to the United Nations, Brazil, France and UNESCO.

25 April 1974 was the day that Portugal threw off the yoke of Salazar’s conservative regime and, after 40 years of dictatorship, became a democracy once more. Fifty years after this momentous day, we celebrate freedom together with the Portuguese community.
