Born out of the ethnicity mix in the Northeast of Brazil in the 1940’s, and popularized first in rural areas, Forró soon conquered space and became the most popular social dance in Brazil. The typical Forró band is composed of a zabumba, an accordion and a triangle. Forró is danced in pairs, in a closed embrace. Many open steps are also possible but the most important is the comfort of your partner in dance. Participating in this dance evening is free of charge.

Programme

19:00-20:00 | Beginners workshop (no experience or partner needed)

At the Kunstenplein in Amare, lively social dance evenings are regularly organised in a variety of dance styles, such as Latin, West Coast Swing and Kizomba. Everyone is welcome to join in—whether you’re curious about a new style or have been hitting the dance floor for years.
