INNEC is an Amsterdam-based quartet that explores new paths in music. With a name that references Wassily Kandinsky’s concept of “Inner Necessity,” they express their pursuit of musical purity while challenging existing conventions and remaining firmly rooted in the present day.

Programme

Marcus Wärnheim – alto saxophone
Justin Zitt – piano
Ignacio Pintó – double bass
Ludvig Søndergaard – drums

The band operates at the intersection of contemporary music and experimental jazz and consists of four young musicians from Spain, Slovenia, Sweden, and Denmark. Their approach weaves rhythmically and melodically complex compositions with free improvisation, allowing the musicians’ distinct individual voices to blend into a unified whole.

In every performance, they explore the musical language they have developed together over the past three years, blurring the lines between composition and improvisation, between structure and chaos. A unique sound, as complex as today’s world.
