The Marmoucha Orchestra works from a broad musical landscape. They draw on traditions from Southwest Asia and North Africa and use them as a starting point for their own approach. Mehdi Nassouli brings his guembri, his voice, and his rhythmic approach to the mix. He blends in with the sound of the ensemble, but at the same time gives it a clear direction.
