Rhythm & Flow

Every discipline has its own cadence: hip-hop, breaking, parkour, pole art, freestyle and music. In Rhythm & Flow, choreographer Marco Gerris brings these worlds together in a performance where rhythms collide, merge and break apart again. Inspired by murmurations, the mesmerising movement of flocks of birds in the sky, the group constantly shifts shape. The performers move with one another, respond to one another and keep finding a shared flow.

A playground of pipes, beats and movement
The impressive set by Ascon de Nijs, a stage-filling tubular construction, becomes a challenging playground for the cast. Hip-hop dancers, parkour athletes, a pole artist, a DJ and a saxophonist use the set as a climbing frame, launchpad and musical arena. Expect breathtaking stunts, power moves, driving live music and a physical intensity that keeps you on the edge of your seat.

Back to the roots of ISH
With Rhythm & Flow, artistic director Marco Gerris returns to the roots of ISH Dance Collective: combining hip-hop dance and urban sports with theatre, music and spectacle. The performance was warmly received by audiences and press and won the Zwaan award for Most Impressive Dance Production 2024.
