Spotlight Festival brings The Hague to life with a weekend full of performing arts by professionals, amateurs, and residents. Discover surprising performances in the neighborhoods and downtown, get inspired, and join in! For anyone who wants to experience culture or get involved in music, theater, dance, comedy, film, or festivals.

On Saturday, September 5, join us at the Spotlight Festival to celebrate the opening of the 2026–2027 cultural season at Amare! There’s plenty to see and do on this day. You can listen to a short concert by the Residentie Orkest, join in the dancing at one of the many workshops led by groups such as Nederlands Dans Theater, and enjoy a captivating show in our Dance Theater, hosted by Paula Udondek, where Amare’s programmers will take you through the highlights of the new season. Experience live music and dance by, among others, our artist-in-residence Elisabeth Hetherington, students from the Royal Conservatory, Dutch Don’t Dance Division, and more.

There’s plenty to experience and get a taste of the new cultural season at Amare!
