A musical that proves that everything is already just fine the way it is… even if it sometimes takes an entire Broadway show to realize that. The feel-good musical comedy of the year that’s guaranteed to leave you happier than when you walked in.

Sometimes you end up in the wrong place at exactly the right time. Or the other way around. That’s how life feels for Jasper—who happens to have autism, but that’s not what this show is about.

Until his mother (Sylvia Poorta)—the director of his life—suddenly passes away, and his “successful” brother (Jim Bakkum/Soy Kroon) decides to completely rewrite the script. With the best of intentions, of course, but without realizing that he’s the one who actually stands out like a sore thumb. Because who actually decides what’s “normal”? In this dazzling, disarming, and refreshingly honest musical comedy, Jasper must not only save himself but also free his brother from the limiting belief that you know what’s best for someone else. Featuring live music, sparkling choreography, and a star-studded cast to savor: Alex Klaasen, Jim Bakkum/Soy Kroon*, Kim-Lian van der Meij/Noortje Herlaar*, Sylvia Poorta, Dennis Willekens, Julia Lammerts, Iris Bakker, and Martijn Kardol. Just as versatile and unpredictable as the spectrum itself.

Stoornis of my Life is a hilarious, moving, and surprisingly relatable musical comedy about what happens when your perfectly choreographed life suddenly has no script. For Jasper (Alex Klaasen), life is one big musical: wonderfully predictable, with set patterns, and—most importantly—a guaranteed happy ending.

Sensory Guide
In collaboration with the Onbeperkt Genieten Foundation, a Sensory Guide has been developed specifically for Stoornis of my Life. This Sensory Guide shows you which moments in the performance may involve more sensory stimuli. This can help you prepare for your theater visit, if you feel the need. The Stimulus Guide focuses on sensory stimuli, such as loud noises and lighting effects. Not all moments can be predicted in advance. Live theater can include unexpected events.

In addition, laminated copies of the Stimulus Guide, as well as headphones and sunglasses available for loan, are provided at the performance for anyone who needs extra support with sensory stimuli. As a visitor, you can request these in advance at the box office.
