During The Hague African Festival, Amare welcomes one of Africa’s great voices: Baaba Maal. The Senegalese singer, born in Podor, has built an impressive international career over the past decades, with more than fifteen albums to his name.

Baaba Maal draws deeply from his roots. Hailing from the Toucouleur people in northern Senegal, he grew up surrounded by singing and oral traditions. This foundation is evident in his music, where he weaves traditional instruments like the kora and sabar with modern influences such as the electric guitar. The result is a distinctive, recognizable style that seamlessly blends tradition and innovation.

This concert is part of The Hague African Festival, the annual cultural festival that has celebrated the richness, diversity, and contemporary strength of Africa since 2009. In collaboration with Amare, the festival brings together top international artists and enthusiastic audiences to share moments of connection, inspiration, and discovery.

Don’t miss this special evening: a powerful live experience where African tradition, global influences, and a unique musical voice come together in the heart of The Hague.
