In Visions, singer Elaine Mitchener joins forces with trombonist Sebastiaan Kemner to perform works by composers who channel the mystical, the political, and the deeply personal. The concert also marks the beginning of the Festival Dag in de Branding. Sebastiaan Kemner performs the trombone Sequenza by Luciano Berio, followed by the world premiere of the trombone concerto 'Echoes from behind' by Martijn Padding. After the break, various works will follow, including Gubaidulina's radiant arrangements of Hildegard von Bingen's visions to Sciarrino's ecstatic Infinito Nero, approaching this program as a revelation – spiritual and embodied.
