Amare 5 year anniversary
Amare is celebrating its fifth anniversary in style. From Friday 20 to Sunday 22 November, Amare will open its doors for a festive anniversary weekend packed with music, dance, socialising and surprises throughout the building.
Together with its neighbours, the Residentie Orkest, Nederlands Dans Theater(NDT) and the Royal Conservatoire, Amare will showcase what the venue has become after five years: a stage for music and dance, a place for the city and a building where there is always something happening.
Five years after its opening, Amare has grown into an international stage for music and dance and a dynamic meeting place in the city. Every year, Amare attracts more than 300,000 visitors to over a thousand performances and activities.
During the anniversary weekend, Amare will emphatically present itself as a place where programming, building and audience come together. The focus is not on a single venue or discipline, but on the overall experience of the venue. See the programme for each day below!
Anniversary weekend
The weekend kicks off on Friday with a special collaboration between the Residentie Orkest and Nederlands Dans Theater (NDT).
In a joint performance, both companies will showcase their distinctive styles and demonstrate how music and dance complement each other.
Everybody Dance Now is Amare’s brand-new International Social Dance Festival: an evening packed with social dancing, workshops, live music and (inter)national dance performances. From lindy hop to hip-hop, from salsa to house, and from the dance floor to the stage.
The anniversary edition of Amare’s Family Sunday! A day for children, parents, carers and grandparents, packed with music, dance, theatre, workshops and creative activities throughout the building.
