Dance

Versatile dance offering in Amare

Amare is a home for dance in its full width: from leading international companies to emerging makers, from Nederlands Dans Theater as our resident company to performances with social urgency. The programme shows how dance can move, question and connect, with space for major names, new voices and productions that speak to the world we live in today. We are committed to presenting works in the Netherlands for the first time, making Amare a unique place for Dutch premieres of international dance productions.

Dance is also an important part of the programme for children and families. With accessible, imaginative and often multidisciplinary performances, Amare introduces young visitors to dance as a language of imagination, movement and encounter. In this way, dance finds a place for every generation: from first theatre experiences to international top productions.

Together with partners such as Holland Dance Festival and Nederlands Dans Theater, Amare strengthens the international dance programme in The Hague. Through FIND, the International Dance Fund, we bring high-profile international productions to Amare and continue to build The Hague’s reputation as the dance capital of the Netherlands. In addition, Amare invests in co-productions with national and international companies, enabling exceptional performances not only to be presented here, but also to be made possible in part by Amare.
