Open Call - for participants À nos combats
Join À nos combats
Step into the ring. Feel the excitement. Be part of the performance.
Registration is open until Wednesday, May 20, 2026
We are looking for participants with an interest in boxing and/or dance to take part as an active audience in a boxing match presented as a dance performance. No dance experience is necessary, and theater experience is not a requirement either. What matters is your commitment, presence, and the energy you bring to bring this performance even more to life. During rehearsals, you will be guided by international choreographers, including the show’s choreographer: Salia Sanou.
ABOUT THE PERFORMANCE
On Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, choreographer Salia Sanou presents his impressive performance À nos combats at Amare. In this compelling production, boxing and dance converge in a physical, raw, and rhythmic performance full of power, vulnerability, and intensity. At the same time, Sanou offers a fresh perspective on the role of women in combat sports and opens the door to broader questions about struggle, boundaries, and violence in our society. As a participant in this performance, you actively take part as an audience member of the boxing match.
This dance performance is inspired by the iconic boxing match “The Rumble in the Jungle.” In 1974, “The Rumble in the Jungle” kept the world on the edge of its seat. The legendary fight between Muhammad Ali and George Foreman became much more than a boxing match: it became a global cultural moment. This energy will come to life again at Amare in June, and we’re looking for active participants who want to be part of it.
Would you like to take part in a high-impact international performance in a boxing ring at Amare? With personal guidance from choreographer Salia Sanou? Read on and sign up!
Prior to the performances, there will be three rehearsal sessions, including a dress rehearsal. Rehearsals will take place from Wednesday, June 10, through Friday, June 12, 2026. The production will consist of three performances on Saturday, June 13, and Sunday, June 14, with a possible fourth performance if the first three sell out.
COMPENSATION
You will receive a compensation of €50 per person for your participation. In addition, family and friends can attend the performances.
