In 2026, Black Harmony will celebrate its 20th anniversary with a special and inspiring performance: Music as a Ritual. Carried by powerful vocals, rhythm, and spirituality, Black Harmony takes the audience on a journey through its rich history. A musical experience that moves and connects.

In three chapters - Origins, Connection, and Transformation - the group’s evolution unfolds: from close harmony, soul, and R&B to the deep, ritualistic power of apinti, kawina, and kaseko. Drums and vocals merge, boundaries blur, and audience and performers become part of a single shared energy. Music as a Ritual is a celebration of 20 years of Black Harmony, but above all an invitation: to feel, to remember, and to connect together. Experience it. Feel it. Become part of it.

Cloakroom and drink
Cloakroom and an intermission drink are included. If the event does not have an intermission, you will receive the drink afterwards.

Black Harmony is a group of ambitious and passionate young men who have been active in the Dutch music scene since June 9, 2006. With a strong passion and natural talent for music, the group has grown into a powerful collective dedicated to close harmony singing and Afro-Surinamese percussion.

What began as a shared love of music has since evolved into a mission to connect people. Through the universal power of music, Black Harmony aims to build bridges between cultures and communities. The group sings exclusively in Sranan Tongo, thereby consciously bringing the Afro-Surinamese language and culture to the forefront.

Musical Signature
Black Harmony performs traditional Afro-Surinamese music, with a focus on the lesser-known but culturally rich styles of Apinti, Kawina, and Kaseko. By centering these traditional musical styles, the group aims to contribute to the preservation and recognition of Afro-Surinamese heritage within Dutch society.
