Een meeslepend avondconcert met Prokofjevs lyrische Vioolconcert nr. 2 en Bruckners monumentale Vierde, de ’romantische’.

Prokofjev Vioolconcert nr. 2
Bruckner Symfonie nr. 4 ‘Romantische’
Een reis van een intieme romantische wereld naar een symfonisch panorama. Prokofjev laat in zijn Tweede vioolconcert het instrument zingen, soms dromerig, dan weer scherpzinnige wendingen; Jackiw maakt het persoonlijk en direct. Bruckner toont daarna het grote gebaar: kathedraalachtige klank, koper dat oplicht, houtblazers die als ochtendnevel bewegen. Zijn Vierde symfonie is geen verhaal, maar een landschap: onstuimig, lyrisch en adembenemend ruim.
