Led by Gordan Nikolić, the Netherlands Chamber Orchestra performs Mozart's Symphony No. 40. A mysterious symphony without a known patron, one of only two symphonies Mozart wrote in a minor key, admired by Schumann and Brahms. The orchestra also performs Mozart's ballet music from the opera Idomeneo, tailor-made for this regular partner of De Nationale Opera.

Ivo Pogorelić took part in the Chopin Competition in Warsaw in 1980, but was eliminated before the final because of jury disputes and political wrangling, to the astonishment of the audience. Former winner Marta Argerich demonstratively resigned from the jury and called him a genius - a scandal was born. Today, admirers and critics alike praise Pogorelić's Chopin interpretation, and one critic even called him "the greatest Chopin interpreter of our time".
