The media is an environment where people stumble before the eyes of the world. But is it also a merciless environment? Does the media contribute to a culture of canceling? Led by Jonathan van der Geer, we delve deeply into these questions. There will be music by pianist Pascal van den Dool. We hope to welcome you!
In a series of three evenings, the LUX Academy reflects on the theme Fallen, canceled, mercy? We will engage in conversation with interpreters from very diverse worlds, such as media, science, church, and politics. Beyond considering others, we will also look at ourselves. How do we feel about our fellow human beings who have reached an impasse? And where did we ourselves reach an impasse? What did we do then? Why do we need mercy when looking at others and ourselves? We focus on the fall, the subsequent period of darkness, and recovery.
