Step into an enchanting world full of rhythm, warmth and connection during In het licht van Diwali. Amare, the Hague-based dance company Kalpanarts and the Hague choir Zangam are joining forces for a special celebration of Diwali: the world-famous Indian festival of lights. Diwali traditionally marks the victory of light over darkness, of good over evil, and of knowledge over ignorance. It is an age-old tradition with a universal and timeless message of hope, resilience and unity that is particularly inspiring today.

In this performance, you are not a detached spectator, but find yourself literally at the heart of the celebration. You are surrounded by the energetic dancers of Kalpanarts, who seamlessly blend contemporary choreography with classical Indian dance forms. Across four compelling parts, a story of transformation and light unfolds, with the sensory experience elevated and enhanced by the live Indian singing of The Hague-based choir Zangam.

Expect a dynamic evening filled with powerful dance pieces, soulful singing and a festive atmosphere that will linger long after the lights have gone out. There are a total of four intimate performances to attend. Celebrate the festival of light with us and let yourself be swept away by an unforgettable encounter between tradition and innovation.
