Jazz pianist and composer Jason Moran has been among the absolute elite of the international jazz scene for years. With his groundbreaking style, impressive virtuosity, and irresistible stage presence, he transforms every performance into a unique musical experience.

Moran achieved worldwide recognition with his critically acclaimed albums for Blue Note Records and his groundbreaking trio The Bandwagon, with which he has continued to push the boundaries of jazz for over twenty years. His music moves effortlessly between tradition and experimentation, between intimate improvisations and powerful rhythms, always driven by a deep love for both the history and future of jazz.

In addition to collaborations with icons such as Cassandra Wilson, Charles Lloyd, and Sam Rivers, Moran has also worked closely with leading artists and filmmakers, including Ava DuVernay on the films Selma and 13th. His innovative projects centered on jazz legends such as Thelonious Monk, Fats Waller, and James Reese Europe showcase his exceptional talent for bringing music, imagery, and narrative together into a compelling total experience.

As artistic director of Jazz at The Kennedy Center and the recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship, among other honors, Jason Moran is one of the most influential artists of his generation.
