Embark on an exciting musical adventure about courage, friendship, and the realization that your world gets bigger the more you learn!

Lennox knows his father is suffering from a mysterious illness, but he isn’t told exactly what’s going on. When his father forgets to bring his lucky necklace to a hospital appointment one day, Lennox decides to go after him with his best friend.

RIGHTABOUTNOW INC. and Dutch National Opera adapted the book Lennox and the Golden Sickle into an energetic hip-hop opera. A story about courage, friendship, and the discovery that your world expands when you know more.

Director Marjorie Boston and librettist Maarten van Hinte are pioneers of hip-hop theater in the Netherlands and the founders of the hip-hop and urban production company RIGHTABOUTNOW INC. In 2020, they created the successful stage adaptation of Brian Elstak’s children’s book Tori. The book Lennox and the Golden Sickle was created in collaboration with IXL Sickle Cell Awareness, an organization dedicated to raising awareness of sickle cell disease.
