In Machos, Pynarello ventures into the raw and unpolished landscape of Southern European Baroque music, searching for the macho and the anti-macho. Are machos always men? Can a macho also be sensitive? Is there a macho hidden in everyone? And can anything be done about it?

All the stereotypes of machismo are examined, challenged and played with. The concert is one great struggle between musicians, the Dutch breakdancer Neo Janes and composers, in which everyone fights for their place. Of course there is muscle music by virtuoso macho composers such as Vivaldi and Tartini, but in addition Pynarello's own violinist and composer Jeffrey Bruinsma explores the anti-macho in an overture he wrote himself.
