The Metropole Orkest, conducted by Jules Buckley, is touring the Netherlands and Germany with an impressive tribute to the legendary Queen of Soul: Aretha Franklin. Together with the talented singer Sheléa, the orchestra delivers a powerful homage to her iconic repertoire, featuring classics such as Respect, (You Make Me Feel Like) A Natural Woman and Think.

Aretha Franklin was one of the best-selling artists of all time and a cultural icon whose influence extended far beyond music. She won eight Grammys and was the first female artist to be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. With songs like Respect, she became a voice for the Civil Rights Movement and for women around the world.

The vocal spotlight during the concerts goes to singer-songwriter Sheléa, who has been praised by legends such as Stevie Wonder and Quincy Jones. Like Aretha, she grew up in Detroit as the daughter of a minister and began singing in church at a young age. Her deep connection to Aretha’s music makes her the perfect interpreter of this repertoire.
