Free walk in

October 10 is World Homeless Day. On this day, attention is drawn worldwide to people who do not have a permanent place to live. Around this time, the City of The Hague is organizing the exhibition More than Homeless.

In the exhibition More than Homeless, you’ll meet artists who have experienced homelessness and discover their art. For some artists, their experience with homelessness is central to their work, while others draw inspiration from very different themes such as identity, resilience, dreams, or everyday life.

Through photographer Jeffrey Grouwstra’s portraits and Judith Eykelenboom’s interviews, visitors gain insight into the people behind the artwork. Homelessness can radically change a person’s life. At the same time, no one is simply “homeless”—every person has their own story.

More than Homeless shows just how diverse the people and experiences behind homelessness are. The exhibition invites visitors to look beyond the label, because homelessness can happen to anyone.
