In Música Callada, Federico Mompou invites the listener into a hushed, almost sacred inner world. Pianist Keiko Shichijo gives voice to this whispering music, which does not reach outward but turns inward.

Federico Mompou Música Callada

Mompou described his Música Callada as a "faint heartbeat": music without outward display, without theatrical gestures. No grand statement, but an intimate resonance beneath "the cold dome of our solitude". In these miniatures, every note seems to arise from silence and dissolve back into it. Shichijo approaches this fragile sound world with the utmost concentration and refinement. What unfolds is a concert that does not overwhelm, but deepens - an experience of stillness, vulnerability and timeless humanity.
