12:00-13:00 OFFsessions #11 introducing Storm
Since its inception, jazz has been closely linked to dance. It was the dance music of the early 20th century: lively, rhythmic and meant to get people moving. With Storm, OFFprojects, JOC and Shabaka Hutchings draw on this original energy and connection between the disciplines, translating it into a contemporary and artistic form.
In this edition of OFFsessions, choreographer Amos Ben-Tal, the dancers of OFFprojects, and musicians from JOC will give a preview of Storm and share insights from their practice. The audience is invited to watch, experience, and reflect. Various topics related to the creative process will be highlighted and discussed.
Feel like moving? Join the open movement class with choreographer Amos Ben-Tal. No dance experience is required for this class, just curiosity!
OFFprojects is a contemporary dance company from The Hague gathered around the work of choreographer Amos Ben-Tal. The company is known for its out-of-the-box approach and exciting interdisciplinary collaborations. Ben-Tal is also a musician and composer, which ensures that dance and music are deeply and innovatively integrated into OFFprojects' interdisciplinary performances. OFFprojects is the very first company in residence at Nederlands Dans Theater
