This year, Festival Klassiek achter de Duinen opens with an emotional rollercoaster: Souvenir de Florence by Tchaikovsky. Across four movements, a turbulent drama unfolds, full of passion and melancholy. It is the perfect start to a sizzling festival.

With Motion Games by Thomas Beijer, the evening takes on a playful, contemporary impulse: an energetic interplay of rhythm and virtuosity. The Piano Trio by Rebecca Clarke will also be performed: a modern masterpiece in which dark motifs and impressionistic colours evolve from menace toward a hopeful conclusion.

To get in the right mood, you can attend the tune-in session beforehand. During this session, the artists offer a personal introduction to the programme.
