In Parade, the ten musicians of the neo-fanfare group 9x13 prepare for a grand performance by the TAVENU wind ensemble. We enjoy 9x13’s dazzling acts, listen to the wonderful music, and also get a glimpse of what’s happening behind the scenes. Or is that perhaps part of the show?

Inspired by the iconic Parade by Erik Satie, Pablo Picasso, Jean Cocteau, and Léonide Massine from 1917, Parade by 9x13 is a heartfelt tribute to art, music, and imagination. But it is also a tribute to the rich tradition of Dutch music associations, where making music is not about perfection, but about coming together, having fun, and the joy of playing. Parade breaks with this tradition, inviting the audience to take a fresh look and perhaps even, every now and then, to join in.
