In this programme, the music of Caroline Shaw takes centre stage - one of the most distinctive voices of her generation and closely connected to Roomful of Teeth, the ensemble with which she achieved international recognition.

Programme

Caroline Shaw Allemande
Caroline Shaw Passacaglia
Caroline Shaw The Isle
Peter Shin Bits torn from words, no. 4
Leilehua Lanzilotti On Stochastic Wave Behavior
William Brittelle Psychedelics

With Partita, the work that made Shaw the youngest ever winner of the Pulitzer Prize, she displays her hallmark style: clear and layered, rooted in tradition yet unmistakably of today. Around it are works by Peter Shin, Leilehua Lanzilotti and William Brittelle, whose Psychedelics conjures a shimmering contemporary sound world. With extraordinary virtuosity, Roomful of Teeth explores the outer limits of the human voice and creates an intense spatial listening experience - adventurous, direct and full of imagination.
