Mistu Bardhan, born in Tinsukia, Assam, is a talented Indian playback singer, known for her distinctive, melodious voice and her refined singing style. She received musical training from renowned figures in the Indian music world, including classical singer and vocal coach Pandit Ajay Chakraborty and the legendary Brij Bhushan Ji. She also received training in light music from, amongst others, Viju Shah Ji and Pyarelal Ji.

Mistu has sung for films and albums in Hindi, Marathi, Gujarati, Bengali, Punjabi, Kannada, Tamil, Bhojpuri and Oriya. She has collaborated with well-known artists such as Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet Bhattacharya, Babul Supriyo and Nakash Aziz.

Her exceptional voice and musical talent have been recognised with numerous awards. In 2015, she was awarded the title ‘Golden Voice of Lata Mangeshkar’. In 2018, she was described by the British newspaper Eastern Eye as ‘India’s New Nightingale’. She has also received, amongst other honours, the Swami Samarth Kala Puraskar (2020) and the Rashtriya Samman Kala Puraskar (2025).

Mistu Bardhan is renowned for her warm, clear voice and her remarkable ability to bring to life the emotion and beauty of Lata Mangeshkar’s timeless music.
