Amare through the eyes of Atelier de Kunstvlieg

March 2026, article

At Amare, inspiration is never far away, from the unique shapes of the building to the diverse music and dance that can be experienced in our halls and public spaces. Participants of Atelier de Kunstvlieg have translated this inspiration into unique and diverse works of art.

Atelier de Kunstvlieg offers artistic day care to people with intellectual, physical and/or social-emotional disabilities who do not participate in the regular labour market. To gain inspiration for their latest exhibition, the participants visited Amare for a tour of the building and attended a rehearsal of the Residentie Orkest.

Afterwards, under the guidance of pedagogically and artistically trained staff, the participants got creative with a variety of materials and methods. In the studio, the focus is on the enjoyment of creating and working together, and there is plenty of room for the individual wishes of the participants. In this way, Atelier de Kunstvlieg offers a pleasant and safe environment where people with special needs can work creatively while developing themselves both artistically and personally.

This experience resulted in a diversity of artworks, all of which show a unique and personal perspective on the building, the music and the dance. Come and take a look at the Kunstenplein from 13 March to 6 April and see Amare through the eyes of the participants!
