Family Sundays

Free entrance for children aged 0-12 and their families

Every second Sunday of the month, Amare presents a programme for young visitors and their families. These include diverse music and dance performances, but also participation activities, all of which are freely accessible. Amare, Residentie Orkest, Nederlands Dans Theater and the Royal Conservatoire collaborate to create unique encounters between musicians, students, dancers and the audience.

In the middle of the city stands a very special building. A building whose heart is made of music and dance. You don’t have to listen hard to hear this heart’s beat: it sounds like an orchestra, a DJ, a marching band. It sounds like classical music and like hip-hop, even like music that you’ve never heard before. The heart is huge – but it can beat very softly, too. That’s when it sounds like a violin, a lullaby, a musical box. The building’s soul is made of dance. You don’t have to look hard to see that. It leaps, spins, stretches and sways – it is young, vibrant and energetic. Sometimes the soul tells stories; sometimes, it is very abstract. You might not understand what it is doing, then. But you can still feel. It still makes you want to dance, too. The building is called Amare. And everyone is welcome there. Including you. Together with your family.

Keep an eye on this page: the programme will be announced later in 2024, around summer.
