Podium de Nieuwe Kamer organizes vibrant Sunday afternoon jazz twice a month at the Kunstenplein. PDNK does this in collaboration with Open Amare and Brasserie Amare.

Bob Kaper’s musical career began in 1955, when at just sixteen he was already making a name for himself in various local bands. In 1957 he founded The BealeStreet Seven, a dixieland ensemble that soon gained national recognition. In 1966 he joined the Dutch Swing College Band, where he remained active for fifty years: first as a substitute for Peter Schilperoort and from 1969 as the band’s permanent clarinetist and musical director. His major contribution to Dutch jazz was recognized in 1999, when he was appointed Knight of the Order of Orange-Nassau.
