From Sofia Nappi’s theatrical and playful Tagadá and Gustavo Ramírez Sansano’s cheerful and energetic Flabbergast to two brand-new pieces by Andonis Foniadakis and Aristide Rontini. A dynamic evening of dance that will leave the audience feeling completely recharged.

Sofia Nappi – Tagadá | 2023
Following the affectionate and humorous duet *Kemet* that Sofia Nappi created for HubClub’23, Introdans is once again collaborating with this fascinating choreographer. In 2021, Sofia Nappi received the Introdans Partner Award at the RIDCC. “That’s where it all began. Her work is very distinctive and theatrical; it communicates so well,” says Roel Voorintholt. This season, Introdans presents her successful group creation Tagadá, set to music by artists including Daft Punk. Nappi uses the Italian fairground ride tagadá as a metaphor for life. Sometimes we just go round and round, without any control. We balance between uncertainty, fear, joy and euphoria. In the unpredictability of life, the connection with the people around you provides a foothold.

Andonis Foniadakis – new creation | 2026
Andonis Foniadakis’s choreography Selon désir was one of the audience favourites from Introdans’s 2023 BACH programme. Now Foniadakis is back with a new creation made especially for the Introdans ensemble. Extreme flexibility and exuberant energy are the hallmarks of his work. Foniadakis brings out the dancers’ full potential; lively and infectious.

Aristide Rontini – new work | 2026
For Aristide Rontini, inclusivity in both practice and thought forms the foundation. This Italian choreographer leads his own company, which places accessibility and all forms of bodily diversity at its heart. Rontini knows from personal experience (his arms are of different proportions) how important it is to set a new standard in dance and beyond. Themes in his work include identity, the relationship between the individual and the community, and between nature and culture. In 2023, Rontini was one of the choreographers for HubClub’23. At the invitation of Roel Voorintholt, Rontini is creating a new piece for ENERGY. “We’re looking forward to seeing what emerges. In any case, it won’t be anything predictable,” says Roel Voorintholt.

Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – Flabbergast | 2002
The celebrated choreographer Gustavo Ramírez Sansano – known for his contemporary version of Carmen – made a big impression with Flabbergast. In this stunning choreography, Sansano embraces his Spanish roots. Artistic director Roel Voorintholt loves the lightness and the playful touch of Flabbergast. Flabbergast is expressive and musical. The dancers transport you to the atmosphere of the 1950s and dance to the rhythm of Latin American music. They explore their desires, their identity and, above all, each other. Combined with the rousing music of the Mexican composer Juan García Esquivel, this creation is the ideal finale to an energetic evening.
